I think you will be nervous when traveling from the airport to the city. There are several options for access from Kansai International Airport (KIX) to Osaka Station. The following is a list of typical methods.
Contents
JR (rapid train)
The easiest way to get to Osaka Station is by JR. There is no train transfer. This is an easier and cheaper way to get to Osaka Station (Umeda). Details are provided below.
Travel time: about 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes
Fare: about 1,200 yen
Route: From Kansai Airport Station (JR),関西空港駅, take the “Kanku Kaisoku Kaisoku” (Kansai Airport Rapid), 関西快速急行, to Osaka Station (Umeda).
JR (Limited Express)
The limited express train arrives at Osaka Station a little earlier than the rapid train. There is no train transfer. This is not recommended as it takes less time and is more expensive than the rapid train.
Travel time: about 1 hour
Fare: about 2,400 yen
Route: From Kansai Airport Station (JR),関西空港駅, take the “Limited Express Haruka” , 特急はるか, to Osaka Station (Umeda).
Nankai Electric Railway
You can also use Nankai to get to Osaka Station. This method is a little more complicated as there is a transfer at Namba Station.
Travel time: about 1 hour
Fare: about 1,200 yen
Route: Take the “Airport Express” , 空港急行, from Kansai Airport Station (Nankai), 関西空港駅, to Namba. Change trains at Namba and take the Osaka Metro train bound for Minoh Kayano (箕面萱野行), which will take you to Umeda.
Limousine bus
By taking a bus at Terminal 1, you can go directly to Osaka Station. There is a possibility of delays due to traffic congestion on the way. It is a little more expensive, but it is very easy and recommended.
Travel time: about 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes (depending on road conditions)
Fare: about 1,800 yen
Route: There is a direct bus service from Kansai Airport Terminal 1 to Umeda (Osaka Station).
Conclusion
Which method you choose may depend on your time frame, budget, and comfort. If you want to save money, JR is the way to go, and if you want an easy way to get there, bus is the way to go. I know you must be nervous about moving to Osaka for the first time, but good luck!
